Pergola: A pergola is a horizontal trellis covering a patio or walkway intended to be covered by foliage, such as grapes, bougainvillea (pictured) or wisteria. (Also called an arbor.)Pioneer Square was actually shaped like a triangle, and had at its center a small park, dominated by a wrought-iron pergola, with antique clocks mounted above.
It was too much. I went to the window and shouted down to the pergola.
